Languna Llanganuco


The “Lagunas de Llanganuco” (Orconcocha & Chinacocha) or “Quebrada de Llanganuco” are located inside the Huascaran National Park in a glacial valley, that is formed by the steep walls of snow mountains: Huascaran, Huando, Pishqo, Yanapaccha and Chopicallqui (“Cordillera Blanca”)
Both of the “Lagunas” are located at 25 km northwest from the city Yungay, this lagunas are created from the melting ice in the snow mountains called: Huascarán, Huandoy, Pishqo, Yanapaccha y Chopicalqui. 
The name “Llanganuco” come from de rune simi llanka (Fine color) and uku (deep) 








Chinacocha or “Female Laguna” is located under the Huascarán, it’s known for its green turquoise color  waters and the forest of “Queñua” that grow in the shore of it.




Orconcocha or “Male Laguna” is located at the end of the glacial valley and it’s known for its light blue color waters.
